For Hotel Koldingfjord, sustainability is not just a declared ambition, but a concrete and goal-oriented effort. Through active work with their CSR profile, the hotel has selected four of the UN’s Global Goals as their so-called “everyday goals ” – goals that must be visible and noticeable in daily operations. One of the key goals is SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production, where the reduction and recycling of food waste plays an important role.

Here, the BTN solution has proven itself as a concrete and practical tool that turns strategy into action. The system makes it possible to handle food waste efficiently, hygienically and with a lower carbon footprint – all while contributing to a more circular approach to resources. It creates measurable results here and now, while supporting the hotel’s long-term sustainability goals.

The solution that fits in naturally

At Hotel Koldingfjord, the kitchen has experienced a significant improvement in everyday life after implementing BTN’ bio-grinder. The system was quickly and smoothly integrated into the existing workflows – without disrupting the flow in the busy kitchen. Precisely because the bio-grinder is located close to where the work is done, it supports the daily routines and creates a more streamlined waste management process.

Previously, food waste handling was associated with awkward lifting, lidded buckets, odors and the risk of spillage. With the BTN solution, these challenges have been significantly minimized. Kitchen staff no longer have to transport heavy and unhygienic waste outdoors to a shed across the road – instead, it is handled directly, safely and efficiently in a closed system.
