The BioMaster – or biogrinder – is the central and visible part of BTN’s waste solution. It is installed directly in the kitchen, where food waste is handled at the source.
The waste is sorted and ground immediately, ensuring high-quality biomass and reducing the risk of contamination from plastics or other foreign materials.
For kitchen staff, the BioMaster represents a major improvement in the working environment. It replaces heavy lifting, waste bags and unhygienic handling steps with an automated process that integrates naturally into daily operations.
This saves time, reduces physical strain and allows staff to focus on their core kitchen tasks.
Once the BioMaster has processed the food waste – or biomass – it is transported through a pipe system to be stored in a biotank. The system is built using high-quality PE pipes, ensuring that blockages, leaks and odours are avoided.
At the heart of the system is a specially patented pump that ensures the biomass is transported efficiently and smoothly through the network.
The food waste is transferred to a biotank for storage, which can be positioned flexibly depending on the building layout and kitchen design. The BioTank can be installed on the same level as the kitchen – either indoors or outdoors – or alternatively placed in a basement or on an upper floor. For new builds, the tank can also be installed underground, freeing up valuable space and contributing to a more compact solution.
The BioTank is available in various sizes and can be individually adapted to each customer’s needs, taking into account both physical space and the volume of food waste. The tanks are supplied as standard models but can also be custom-made to meet specific requirements.
The biomass is extracted directly from the tank and transported by tanker truck to the nearest biogas plant. The BioTank only needs to be emptied a fraction as often as with traditional waste handling, making it both an economic advantage and an environmental benefit as CO₂ emissions are reduced.
With a service and emptying agreement, BTN takes care of the entire process, so customers do not have to spend time coordinating collections or contacting biogas plants. We provide emptying at fixed, competitive rates.
The agreement can also be expanded to include simultaneous emptying of the grease separator.
We are the only company in Denmark able to deliver biomass directly to the biogas plant without pre-sorting. The need for pre-treatment is eliminated because the food waste is processed directly in the kitchen.
At the local biogas plant, the biomass is converted into biogas. This biogas is then used to heat homes and generate electricity, while nutrient-rich fertiliser is produced for agriculture. In this way, waste becomes a valuable resource in a circular process.
