Our solution makes it easy for staff to handle food waste safely and ergonomically, without heavy lifting or unhygienic conditions. BTN was founded in 2012 with a clear mission: to rethink food waste management and create a solution that combines environmental responsibility with practical value.
It all started with the idea of turning food waste into green energy – but also with a desire to solve the everyday challenges faced by kitchen staff: pests, heavy lifting, unpleasant odours and inefficient workflows.
We have developed a system consisting of a biogrinder, pipes and a biotank, making it possible to grind and store food waste directly at the source.
Since then, BTN has grown to become much more than a technical system.
It is now a complete, digitalised solution that supports both daily operations and documentation.
The system is equipped with GSM and IoT technology, making it possible to monitor tank levels in real time and automatically schedule the emptying of the biotank – freeing up time and resources for the customer.
In the BTN customer portal, users can view emptying and service history and access environmental data. Customers gain ongoing insight into how much CO₂ has been saved and how much energy their food waste has produced in the form of heat and electricity.
This data can easily be used in ESG reporting, internal sustainability accounts and external communication.
We are constantly working to make food waste handling easier and more efficient. We are now developing new ways to work with our customers to gain insight into and optimise their use of the grinder – by ensuring correct filling and maintaining water consumption at a sustainable level.
It is all about data, dialogue and daily operations. With the new setup, our customers gain continuous insight into their equipment and usage patterns, allowing us to make joint decisions that benefit both the environment and the economy – based on real data.
